MVP guide / Saudi Arabia & the GCC
What determines the cost of building an MVP?
The short answer
MVP development cost depends on the work needed to complete one useful customer journey: the platforms, user roles, screens, data, integrations and release requirements. FLUIDS provides a written price after defining that scope. We do not publish a universal starting price because a browser-based pilot and a mobile marketplace involve different work. Compare the same deliverables, and budget separately for the build, third-party services and ongoing support.
Price the workflow, not the screen count.
A booking screen may need availability rules, permissions, notifications, cancellation and an admin action behind it. An integration also needs failure handling and testing. Give each supplier the same user journey and acceptance criteria before comparing totals. A lower quote can reflect a smaller scope rather than a lower cost for the same work.
Separate the build from the cost of running it.
Keep development, hosting, email or SMS, payment-provider fees, store accounts and maintenance as separate budget lines. Ask who owns each account and who receives each bill. Agree what happens when usage exceeds an included allowance. Treat later features as a new phase instead of assuming every future idea is included in the first quote.
Reduce scope without weakening the core product.
For an early pilot, one platform, one customer journey and a simple admin process can keep the work focused. Defer optional dashboards, loyalty schemes and complex automation if they do not test the main assumption. Keep access control, reliable data handling, usable errors and testing in the agreed release. The team should explain the trade-off behind every omission.
MVP cost drivers to discuss in a quote
| Decision | Focused first release | What adds work |
|---|---|---|
| Platforms | Responsive web application | Separate mobile distribution and device testing |
| Roles | Customer and admin | Providers, branches, approvals and different permissions |
| Payments | One agreed payment flow | Subscriptions, refunds, payouts or reconciliation |
| Data | New records entered in the product | Migration, clean-up or external systems |
| Operations | A simple admin action | Automated exceptions, reports and audit workflows |
Ask for these items in your MVP quote
- Included features, roles, platforms and languages
- Design, development, testing and deployment responsibilities
- External fees and account ownership
- Acceptance criteria, revisions and exclusions
- Source code handover and post-launch support scope
Questions about this topic.
Do you publish an MVP price in SAR?
There is no published standard MVP package price. Share your users, core workflow, preferred platforms and integrations; FLUIDS will provide a written price for the agreed scope.
Are hosting and payment fees included?
The quote should state which setup work and service allowances are included. Recurring subscriptions, usage fees and payment charges must be identified separately rather than assumed to be covered forever.
Can I get a smaller MVP scope?
Yes. Start with the most important user journey and identify what can remain manual during the pilot. The reduced scope must still be usable, testable and clear about its limits.
